Rules of editing this dictionary

Rule number one

unless other wise specified, Crum is our reference when it comes to organizing/sorting words

Making the entry in the index page

 • In order to have your word listed, you must add this code where Ⲁ is the letter your word starts with, for example if you are making entry for the word ⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ you should add to the bottom of your page
 • if a word has different entries in curm then an entry is made for each meaning (as in Crum) and in this case the page will be called word_meaning for example ⲁⲗⲉ_mount and ⲁⲗⲉ_utensil_of_bronze
 • if a word has a single entry in crum, then this word will be the page's title example ⲁⲓⲁⲓ

Examples you should follow: ⲁⲗⲉ_utensil_of_bronze for Noun Ⲁⲓⲁⲓ for Noun Ⲁⲗⲉ_mount for Verbs

Redirection

Coptic words usually have more than one spelling we use Crum to determine which spelling is the one that will be placed in the index page the other spellings can optionally also be placed in the index page but redirect the user to the main entry

Examples: ⲕⲱϯ should redirect to ⲕⲱⲧⲉ

Code: * ⲕⲱϯ B See ⲕⲱⲧⲉ

Adding examples

 • Examples are to be placed in independent page (not in the word's main page)0
 • Examples page should be called pagetitle_exmples ⲁⲓⲁⲓ_examples
 • If a word has more than one entry then the example pages should be like that ⲁⲗⲉ_mount_examples
